Congratulations to the winners and finalists of the CANSCAIP Writing for Children Competition

A bit more good news! The excerpt from my young adult novel was a finalist in the CANSCAIP 2016 Writing for Children Competition.

Congratulations, Corinne! Being a finalist in this contest is a very big deal. Also, special congratulations to Catherine Jansen from the Wednesday evening class and to Cheryl Stewart who comes to my workshops in Ottawa, who were also both finalists in the Chapter Book/ Middle Grade/ Young category. 

And of course congratulations to the winners: Ann Marie Stasiuk of Stratford, Ontario for A Wintry Wait, in the picture book / early reader catergory and Marci McAdam of Calgary, Alberta, for Creep School, in the  (writer lives in Calgary, Alberta, in the Chapter Book/ Middle Grade/ Young category.

Note: CANSCAIP is the Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers. The winners of the CANSCAIP contest both receive $1,000. In addition, the winners and all eight finalists also have their entries submitted to three Canadian book publishers for consideration. 

What better way to have your manuscript submitted than with CANSCAIP’s assurance that yours is one of the top ten children’s or YA manuscripts in Canada.
