June 1 deadlines for short fiction, poetry & true stories


Sterling Magazine (Canada) is accepting submissions of fiction, poetry and comics of all genres. Max length for fiction: 3000 words; poetry: 3-5 pieces. Payment for accepted material is $25 (CAD). Deadline: June 1, 2012.

The Broken City (Toronto), an online literature/arts magazine, is accepting submissions for its summer 2012 edition: The Future. This issue tackles science fiction via poetry, short stories, essays, comics, illustrations and photography. Deadline: June 1, 2012.

Marco Polo (US) seeks '100 X 100: One Hundred Short Shorts, One Hundred Words Long.' Submit a short short containing 100 words max. The 100 stories chosen from submissions will be published online. Best story receives a hardcover edition of the book Vitamin P2. Deadline: June 1, 2012.

Seeking true stories, 500 to 2500 words for a new anthology series, Not Your Mother's Book (US). Pays in books or royalties. Deadline: June 1, 2012 (Themes: On Being a Woman and On Dogs) and August 1, 2012 (Theme: On Travel).
